《 Salon de Paris Club 》Conference “How Ajinomoto survives in Europe as a manufacturer of Umami-seasoning”

Mr Miyake firstly showed Ajinomoto’s history, i.e., start of the business by Saburoshuke SUZUKI in 1907, discovery of monosodium glutamate (MSG) by Kikunae IKEDA, Professor of Tokyo Imperial University in 1909, its start of business in Paris in 1954. He explained expansion of business in Germany, France, Italy and other European nations and also Nigeria and Ivory Coast.

Looking back to his long experience with the Japanese agro-business development in overseas, he concluded with his views as to how Ajinomoto will further grow its business and enhance innovation:

1. Strong commitment of top management
2. Accumulation of global experiences
3. Emphasis on locally based customer services
4. Living with the society
5. Respecting and entrusting regional staff
